Position Summary: Under the direction of Director of Operations, the Quality Engineer coordinates, implements, and manages the quality system to the requirements of the organization and the current ISO Standard.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities:
Lead, implement, and sustain the RMF Quality Management System including procedures, work instructions, and all related documentation. Serve as the quality system champion to organize key system elements, train employees, and reinforce performance.
Manage the Audit Program for the company’s ISO 9001 Quality Management System and coordinate corrective action as required. Ensure that timely corrective action steps are completed including evaluation, solution, communication, documentation, and follow up.
Train RMF employees on multiple aspects of quality, including the Quality Management System, blueprint reading, proper use of inspection equipment & tools, performing quality inspections, containing non-conforming product, and creation of quality records.
Work with customers and suppliers regarding quality problems and concerns; including root cause analysis and corrective action. Ensure all quality problems or concerns are resolved to provide the most equitable solution to the customer, supplier, and RMF. This may include visits to customer or supplier sites to address issues and build confidence in RMF.
Lead or participate in cross-functional teams as the Quality representative.
Education and/or Experience
Requires associates ’degree and 3 – 5 years of related experience; or four years of high school and six to eight years of progressively responsible related experience; or a combination of education and experience. A four year college degree in a Quality related field is preferred. Experience in manufacturing job shops, especially metal fabricating and knowledge of the commercial lighting industry, electronics, food and medical equipment is helpful
